Callow Lodge 2 Surrounding Area

Callow lodge is perfectly situated for exploring the Shropshire countryside either on foot or mountain bike. It is also just a short drive or bus ride away from the mediaeval town of Shrewsbury. Famed for its distinctive black and white buildings, the centre of the town is traversed via its original narrow alleyways, aptly named ‘Shuts and Passages’. Hidden treasures in the form of tiny unique shops as well as the Shrewsbury Museum make for an interesting day out, with plenty of pubs and restaurants for refreshment.

A little further afield is the town of Ironbridge, named after its famous landmark spanning the River Severn – which was the first ever arch bridge built from cast iron. Ironbridge is a World Heritage Site and is home to the Gorge Museum.
