Description

Hazel Log cabin, Dorset and Somerset

The Hazel Log cabin is located just half a mile from Washford. Hazel Lodge is a delightfully unusual retreat sitting within the grounds of Shells Cottage. The lodge is actually split into two, joined by an external staircase, making it ideal for two families to go away together, or even for older children to have a bit of space of their own.

The lodge boasts wonderful period features, such as exposed beams, a wood burning stove and fireplace, while outside there is a decked area complete with hot tub, making this cabin the perfect place to enjoy a rustic but luxurious retreat.

Hazel Log cabin accommodation

On the ground floor there are two bedrooms: one double and one twin. There is a wet room with a shower, basin and WC. The open plan living space is spacious yet cosy, with a kitchen, dining area and seating area with the wood burner at the heart.

On the first floor there are two twin rooms, a shower room with a shower, basin and WC and a small kitchenette.
Outside there is a private decking area, with furniture, the hot tub and a BBQ, perfect for summer evenings enjoying the lovely surroundings.

The cabin is heated by electric radiators and the wood burner. General utilities include, on the ground floor: an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and a TV with Freeview and DVD facilities. On the first floor: a 2-ring electric hob, a fridge, microwave and a TV with Freeview and DVD facilities, as well as a PlayStation 3 with 1 game, making this an ideal lodge to bring the whole family.

Fuel, power, the starter pack for the wood burner, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. There is off road parking space for two cars. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. There is both a shop and pub within a mile.

NB: The floor is only accessible via the external staircase, and one of the first floor bedrooms has a door opening directly onto it, so children must be supervised. Until 9th January 2016, this property has a Friday changeover day. From 9th January 2016 onwards, the property has a Saturday changeover.
