King Offas Lodge is one of two delightful, converted farm buildings. King Offas Lodge is a large, well-appointed property that offers a fantastic holiday base for the whole family.

The location of these lodges is truly stunning. Nestled on a country lane on a working farm, they are surrounded by beautiful green countryside and lovely woodland.

The lodges themselves have been expertly finished to provide comfortable, luxurious accommodation. They have plenty of traditional features, such as woodburners and character beams, combined with sumptuous state of the art amenities to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Environmentally conscious guests will benefit too, as the underfloor heating is powered by the owners’ own biomass boiler, which runs on locally sourced woodchips, and all daytime electricity is supplied by solar panels.

The surrounding area is lovely and rural, and guests will love relaxing in this beautiful, welcoming place.

King Offa’s Lodge accommodation

Kind Offas Lodge is absolutely stunning. It consists of four bedrooms, each with their own TV and en-suite. There is one king-size double with en-suite bath with a shower over, basin and WC. One double with en-suite shower, basin and WC. One twin (which can be made into a super king-size double on request) with a small sofa bed and an en-suite bath, shower, basin and WC. One ground floor twin (which can be made into a super king-size double on request) with an en-suite shower, basin and WC.

A delightful addition is that each bedroom is themed, which adds that extra bit of novelty and luxury to your stay.

The kitchen is large and welcoming. Fitted with plenty of modern facilities, it’s a great place to socialise for the whole family.

The sumptuous sitting room is complete with a woodburning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in when the weather is less than ideal.

The lodge benefits from a private, enclosed patio with furniture. An ideal spot for sunny morning coffees or warm evening drinks soaking up the tranquil rural atmosphere.

General amenities include: eco-friendly underfloor heating on the ground floor, radiators and a woodburner on the first floor. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and dishwasher.

The lodge boasts an impressive six TVs, all with Freeview and a DVD player. There is also a CD player/radio, Wi-Fi connection, and a great selection of books, games and DVDs, which means plenty of entertainment for the whole family, no matter what the weather decides to do.

Fuel, power, the starter pack for the woodburner, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.

Both a travel cot and highchair are available. There is off road parking with space for three cars. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. The nearest shop is 3.5 miles away, and the nearest pub is 3 miles.

Please note: the lodge owners can offer kennels outside for guests’ dogs but they are strictly prohibited at the lodge itself.

King Offas Lodge Surrounding Area

Wonastow is a vibrant market town in a fantastic location between England and Wales. Located close to Offa’s Dyke, it offers a busting weekly market, plenty of shops and an impressive castle ruins that are well worth a visit.

As the place where the rivers Wye, Monnow and Trothy meet it is an perfect location for river boating and scenic river walks.

The area is also rich in history. There are many ancient castles that are great to discover. Monmouth is also the birthplace of Henry V and offers an abundance of stunning historic sites, such as the13th century bridge over the river Monnow.

Just a short drive away are the charming towns of Usk, Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye, all with lots of shops and pubs and their own quaint charm.

Visitors should also enjoy some of the many outdoor activities on offer in the area, such as a day’s hiking in the Brecon Beacons and Forest of Dean, or an idle day spent canoeing and fishing on the river Wye.
