Lindale Park surrounding area
The historic market towns of Richmond, Bedale, Leyburn and Masham are all within 5 miles.
Nestled at the heart of the Dales, some of England’s most spectacular walks are right on the doorstep.
There is also plenty of interesting history to discover. Bolton Castle is very close by, and is an impressive medieval fortress with fascinating rectangular towers and beautiful views over the Dales. Slightly further afield, The Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle makes a great family day out.
It is no surprise that there is a vast array of walking trails throughout the area, with something to suit all abilities. Kilnsey Park is a beautiful, large parkland where you can see wildlife roaming freely. Follow the Kilnsey Trail that leads around the park and is bursting with activities to keep children entertained. While Bolton on Swale Lake is a stunning, tranquil lake that provides ample opportunity to marvel at the local birds. Keep an eye out for shovelers, merlins, oystercatchers, curlew sandpipers and yellow wagtails, to name a few.
Elsewhere, golf enthusiasts should head to Barnard Castle Golf Club, an excellent 18-hole course with gorgeous views. Similarly, Ellerton Park is a great destination for coarse fishing, particularly local carp. While away an afternoon, basking in the peaceful rural surroundings.
Luxurious and comfortable, these deluxe lodges are ideally placed as a sumptuous, welcoming base for exploring this stunning region.
