Description

Norway Lodge, Dorchester, Dorset

Norway Lodge is one of two secluded lodges on this lovely site. Private and welcoming, they boast beautiful views over the Dorset Gap and surrounding rural countryside.

Situated in the charming village of Ansty, the lodges artfully combine state of the art amenities with the romantic ambience of a rustic log cabin. They are even surrounded by pine trees, which ensure privacy as well as lending the site a delightfully Scandinavian feel.

Norway Lodge accommodation

The lodge has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom is a twin that can be made into a double on request. The main bathroom has a bath and WC.

The open plan living area is cosy and welcoming. Boasting a traditional wood burner, it is a comfortable haven on chillier evenings. It also boasts a TV, DVD player and iPod dock, which ensures that guests have plenty of entertainment, whatever the weather.

The lodge has a verandah with chairs and a BBQ, with steps down to an open lawned area. The views are simply spectacular, and it’s an idyllic spot for a couple of drinks on a balmy summer’s evening. Perhaps best of all is the fabulous hot tub. Adding that special touch of luxury to the property, it also means that guests can enjoy the outdoors even on cooler evenings.

General amenities include: a gas oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Ben linen, towels, electricity and underfloor heating are all included in the rent. There is secure parking as well as bike hire. Wi-Fi is available, although limited.

One dog welcome, charged at £20 for up to seven nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week/part week thereafter. Further dogs also welcome by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking.

There is a farm shop onsite, and a pub within easy walking distance.

Please note: the property is approached via steps and may not be suitable for less able visitors.

Norway Lodge surrounding area

A network of footpaths meander all around the surrounding fields and woodland, conveniently leading to a traditional pub just a few minutes away.

The incredible Jurassic Coast and ancient wonders of Durdle Door and Old Harry Rocks are within easy reach. Admire the majestic seas from atop the cliffs or wander along the sweeping sands to discover a fossil or two.

The area boasts lots of charming villages, with quintessential tearooms and quaint shops. Slightly further afield, the bustling towns of Dorchester, Blandford Forum and Weymouth offer a great array of activities, as well as plenty of shops, pubs and excellent restaurants.
