Perfect for a romantic getaway or a family holiday spent discovering the delights of rural Suffolk, Sweffling Hall is furnished with a large sofa and chairs arranged around the traditional wood burner, great for curling up in on chillier evenings or when the weather is less than ideal. Large outside decking makes a fantastic spot for a morning coffee in the sunshine, planning the day’s activities, or long summer evenings spent basking in the tranquility of the stunning surroundings.
Sweffling Hall accommodation
The accommodation is comprised of three spacious bedrooms: one double, one twin, and one bunk room. Proper, solid pine beds, with comfy mattresses and bedding, ensure that guests will sleep well after a busy day spent outside.
The shower and WC are accessed through the main door and are both fully plumbed in, while the shower runs off an independent hot water system and has a fully adjustable head, making sure that your stay in the great outdoors is convenient and restful, with all the comforts of home.
The kitchen has a butane hob for simple meals, and the wood burning stove is great for slow cooked casseroles, which warm the soul and are a lovely little addition to the rustic atmosphere. The dining area gives access to a zipped porch area, which is a great for storing muddy wellies and wet coats away from the living space.

Sweffling Hall surrounding area
The surrounding area is rich in sights and activities to see and explore. The Forest of Bowland has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and provides lovely walking and cycling trails through its ancient woodland. Within easy reach of Sweffling Hall are a vast array of traditional English sights, such as Cobble Hey Farm & Gardens; a delightful, working farm and gardens, make a wonderful countryside day out for guests of all ages.
The Forest has its own website, which provides a list of incredible walks around the area, with different routes to suit all abilities. Spend a day discovering the wonderful nature trails and interesting local wildlife.
Take a trip to Bowland Wild Boar Park, where it’s possible to see and feed lots of different animals – including deers, llamas and goats – as well take a leisurely stroll along the River Hodder.
There are lots of adult-friendly activities too. The Inn at Whitewell is a traditional pub that serves a delicious menu of local game, such as seasonal grouse from Lancashire Moor, pheasant and partridge from Dunsop shoot, Bowland beef and Lonk lamb from Burholme Farm.
The area is a haven for golfing enthusiasts with Clitheroe Golf Club nearby. Enjoy a relaxing morning spent on the course, taking in the breathtaking scenery of Ribble Valley.
Meanwhile, the award-winning, picturesque villages of Chipping and Dunsop Bridge make a delightful location for an afternoon spent wandering around pretty, historic streets and quaint shops and tea rooms. And guests simply must see glorious Waddington for themselves, and marvel at its charm, which has earned it the title of ‘Best Kept Village in Lancashire’ on many occasions.
There are also lots of exciting annual events in the area, that occur throughout the year, such as the Claughton Woodland Walk, Discover Bleasdale, Building for Birds, Café Walk and Cobbley Hey.
