The Viewing Platform is a converted World War II transporter that has been expertly converted into fabulous accommodation. Its history and design make it a quirky, fascinating place to stay, while its excellent renovation and state of the art facilities provide all the luxurious comfort you need for a relaxing rural retreat.
Situated in a secluded corner of the owner’s small touring site, the lodge is delightfully private, but also within easy reach of plenty of amenities and conveniences. It boasts a large, decked area that is an idyllic spot to unwind in the sunshine, basking in the tranquility of the surroundings.
The site is located just a mile outside East Harptree, a picturesque village that sits right on the edge of stunning reservoirs and lakes, and has a well-stocked village shop and friendly pub. Within easy reach are the historic cities of Bristol and Bath, making this lovely lodge an ideal base for exploring this fine region.
The Viewing Platform accommodation
The lodge is comprised of a large double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and a spacious, open plan living area. The bedroom has a great en-suite, complete with a fabulous roll top bath for unwinding in after a long day spent exploring.
The living area is light, with plenty of windows that really make the most of the beautiful views. It also has a traditional wood burner and comfy sofa, ideal for curling up in on chillier evenings. A wall-mounted TV with Freeview and a DVD player, as well as an iPod dock, ensure that guests will never be short on entertainment, no matter what the weather decides to do.
The large decking and enclosed garden complete the property, and offer a wonderful outside space for guests to soak in the charming, green surroundings. Enjoy some al fresco cocktails on a warm summer evening, or a morning coffee in the sun as you plan the day’s adventures.
General amenities include: an integrated electric oven and hob, a microwave, and a fridge with ice compartment.
Bed linen, electricity, heating and Wi-Fi are all included in the rent, and there is ample parking available. One, well-behaved, dog is welcome, charged at £20 for up to seven nights, £40 for up to 14 nights, and an additional £20 for every week/part week thereafter.
