Woodpecker Lodge, Tattershall Lake Country Park

Set in a stunning location, right on the edge of Duck Lake, in Tattershall Lakes Country Park, Woodpecker Lodge overlooks the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Built in a traditional, timber-roller style, designed specifically to make the most of the scenery, the lodge really helps to create the rustic, peaceful atmosphere of a tranquil lakeside retreat.

At the water’s edge can be found a large, covered veranda, complete with furniture and a hot tub. Perfect for whiling away the hours unwinding and gazing at the lovely view.

Tattershall Park itself is fantastic for families, offering plenty of water sports and activities to ensure guests are always entertained, while nearby beaches provide a stunning backdrop for enjoying Lincolnshire’s rural beauty.

The lodge has three ground floor bedrooms: one king-size double with its own TV and en-suite bath, basin and WC; a further king-size double and one twin with en-suite shower, basin and WC (shared with the second, king-size double room). The open plan living area is on the first floor, and has a quaint sloping ceiling, plus a fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a traditional wood burner.

General amenities include: gas central heating with a wood burner in the seating area, an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, a dishwasher, two TVs, both with Freeview and DVD facilities. Fuel, the starter pack for the wood burner, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. There is off road parking, with space for 2 cars.

A stunning private veranda to the side of the property, with table, chairs and hot tub. Fishing is also available from the owner’s peg. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. There is an on-site shop and bar/restaurant within a five-minute walk, and a communal, coin-operated washing machine.

NB: There are spiral stairs leading to the first floor, or an optional external staircase. The veranda is unfenced and children should be supervised at all times. No hen/stag parties or similar. There is an RAF base nearby and there may be some related noise. The on-site facilities are available all year round except in January and February. During these months there is a shop in Tattershall village, just a 15-minute walk away.

Tattershall Lakes Country Park offers everything you need to enjoy a relaxing, entertaining family break. Boasting 365 acres of land, at Tattershall you can discover the wildlife hidden in the woodland and spend some time in the peace and tranquillity of the shady trees, or join in with one of the vast array of activities and sports on offer, which cater for the whole family, such as a 60 acre water skiing and wakeboard lake, a 45 acre jet skiing lake and a cable wakeboard lake. If you would prefer something a little more traditionally relaxing, there is an 18-hole golf course and three coarse fishing lakes.

When you need to take a break from all the activities, there are two bars on site, a restaurant, a children’s play area and supermarket.

If visitors can bear to drag themselves away from such vast enjoyment, there is a lot to see and do in the surrounding area as well. Tattershall Castle is situated very close by, and Belvoir Castle, Burghley House and Belton House are all great places to discover more about the history of the area.

For something livelier, venture into Lincoln, with its beautiful castle and medieval streets, and plenty of quirky shops and traditional pubs. Or you can enjoy some of the beautiful countryside in the nature reserves at Donna Nook and Gibraltar Point.
